Deadly Plandri (Bloch) Azad Kashmir Clashes: 9 Civilians Killed During JAAC Protest March in Azad Kashmir

Following deadly clashes between security forces and protesters in Plandri on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, which protest organizers say left six civilians dead, thousands attended funeral prayers in the victims’ native villages before joining a large convoy toward Rawalakot. Protesters reportedly removed road blockades along the way to reach the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKAAC/JAAC) protest.

Organizers claimed that around 150,000 (1.5 lakh) people gathered in Rawalakot on July 15, making it one of the largest demonstrations in the region in recent months. At the same time, behind-the-scenes negotiations were underway between government representatives and JAAC leaders. According to reports, Syed Qamar Raza was sent to hold talks with the protest leadership, while JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also played roles in facilitating dialogue. The developments came amid heightened tensions over ongoing protests and political demands in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
