Muzaffarabad: The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) is expected to issue an important policy statement on July 9, during which it will announce its next course of action regarding the ongoing public movement in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to JAAC leadership, Umar Nazeer Kashmiri has called on the people of AJK to boycott the upcoming elections, stating that the current political environment does not reflect the aspirations of the public. He urged citizens to remain united and support the committee’s movement.
JAAC has announced that its detailed future strategy will be unveiled on July 9. Sources within the movement indicate that the committee may announce a long march as part of its next phase of protest. There is also a possibility of sit-ins across different parts of AJK, aimed at increasing pressure on the authorities to address the committee’s demands.
The leadership has appealed to supporters to remain peaceful, organized, and await the official announcement on July 9 before taking part in any planned activities.
Note: The possible announcement of a long march and Kashmir-wide sit-ins has not been officially confirmed at the time of writing and remains subject to JAAC’s formal declaration on July 9.
