Muzaffarabad/Islamabad: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that dialogue is the only viable solution to the ongoing crisis in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), stressing that confrontation will only worsen the situation. He said Jamaat-e-Islami is playing the role of a mediator to help bring the government and the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) to the negotiating table.
Speaking on the issue, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman urged all stakeholders to exercise restraint and resolve their differences through meaningful negotiations. He emphasized that the legitimate concerns of the people of AJK should be addressed peacefully and without delay, adding that public issues cannot be solved through force or conflict.
The JI chief said his party has been in contact with both government representatives and JAAC leaders to facilitate dialogue and help reach a peaceful settlement. According to him, Jamaat-e-Islami is committed to protecting the rights of the people of AJK while ensuring that peace and stability are maintained in the region.
He expressed hope that sincere negotiations would pave the way for a mutually acceptable solution and called on all parties to prioritize the interests of the people over political differences.
